Watercolor Painting

Paris Street

  • Description: The Paris Street is a watercolor painting I did in fall of 2025.  Inspiration for this piece and others I have done like it comes from photos my father has taken on his many travels.
  • Design Context: This piece is one of a series of paintings I started in this style when I was a sophomore in high school. I originally started this painting about three years prior to completing it. I eventually finished this painting as part of a class project.
  • Research: No research was completed for this piece.
  • The Idea: Again, my idea or inspiration for my painting comes from a photo my dad took while traveling. My idea also came from other paintings in this type of style. The Paris Street painting shows my skills in using watercolor paint and knowledge of how to create the architectural style in a painting.
  • The Thought Process: My process for this project first starts with a tracing of the reference image in pencil, then I go over the pencil with a waterproof pen, and finally I paint the drawing. Occasionally, I will go back with my pen to add details.
