Morocco Poster Series

Morocco Poster Series

  • Description: This project idea came from an assignment where we were to create a three-poster series of a country given to us in class in Photoshop. Each poster is meant to stand alone but still be in the same style and theme as the others in the series.
  • Design Context: My approach to creating my three posters was to make a single image that stretches over all three posters. I wanted there to be buildings, water/coasts, mountains, and greenery of some sort in the design. I also wanted the posters to have a transition from day to night going left to right. I planned for my posters to all be viewed vertically as well.
  • Research: Morocco is known as/for many things, some of which are a green star, the Hassan II Mosque, Kingdom of Light, City of Casablanca, having a desert and coast, and having palm trees and mountains. As far as the style of my posters, I took inspiration from travel posters. The posters I looked at were both created by the same group called the Anderson Design Group. I like the calming and relaxed feel both the posters have. I also like how the one poster has large text and I like how the other draws your eye toward the sky with the use of the palm tree.
  • The Idea: My posters show the results of my research by each featuring one iconic thing that Morocco is known for, having the same style, showing consistency, and having a day – night theme.
  • The Thought Process: My process for creating this poster series included online research, looking up references, note taking, sketching, making design decisions, and then creating my designs in Photoshop.
